David J. Johnson, Ph.D. |
David has developed patent portfolios for both high-tech start-ups and large corporations. He is experienced in managing the end-to-end intellectual property life cycle, from developing IP to technology sales, and from patent drafting to licensing. He joined Perry+Currier Inc. from a major telecommunications carrier, where he drafted and prosecuted patent applications in all areas of telecommunications, including VoIP, mobility, and security applications.
David holds a Ph.D in Physics from Queen’s University, where his research focused on fabricating ultra-thin films using novel deposition techniques. David also held post-doctoral Humboldt, NSERC and Eastburn Fellowships, and investigated the solid-state properties of hard materials. He spent seven years in the flat-panel display industry, where he developed and managed IP around vacuum processes and optics.
